This short section of the Julian Trail at the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate Recreation Area in Sausalito, California is a moderate 1.6 mile out-and-back hike that leads downhill and back to parking.

The Julian Trail, if you follow it in its entirety, will lead down to the Headlands Lookout point along Conzelman Road and Black Sands Beach; however, I did not have enough time to hike down to the beach and back.

The trail heads downhill the entire time with views of the Marin Headlands valley and surrounding hills. The portion of the trail that sit open within the valley are extremely windy as the air from the ocean is pushed up the valley to create a strong wind current.

Wildflowers can be found along the sides of the trail in the Spring too. This is a fairly popular biking and running trail.

Coastal Trail: This is technically part of the Coastal Trail at Marin Headlands. To continue following the Coastal Trail from this one, check out the Slacker Trail at the trailhead.
